Processing Times and Essential Tips
Standard processing for a visa status change can take up to one month. Please plan your stay and finances accordingly.
Important Considerations:
- If your current visa has not yet expired, you must book an appointment in advance via the HiKorea portal.
- If the online booking system is full and you cannot secure a slot before your expiry date, you should go directly to the Immigration Office on the day of your visa expiry to take a queue number.
- Procedures vary by branch: The Southern Immigration Office (Seoul) may allow walk-ins up to two days before expiry, whereas other branches may only issue tickets on the day of expiry itself.
